Marla K. Sanford, owner of Yellow Dog Marketplace, opened her first store in the spring of 2014 in Goodrich, MI. as an avid collector of "things", and her love for design it seemed like the perfect fit. The thought of brining folks together over "old and new things", always was a dream. After moving from the Goodrich location to Clarkston in 2019, Yellow Dog really started to grow and find herself as a place to shop and gather.
Marla's background was in Interior Design for over 30 years. Starting out as an intern in Grosse Pointe, MI. Moving on as an interior designer with a firm in Manalapan, FL, to years later back home to Birmingham, MI for a 20 years career with Baker Furniture. Projects included private residences, commercial buildings, restaurants, yachts, and hair salons. However, the best project has been the building and design of Yellow Dog Marketplace.
As a mom to her son Chase, and an avid salmon fisher woman, life is good.
